Sometimes, on one's birthday, it is just as satisfying to do something for a friend as it is to have a friend do something for you.

I'll bring the ice cream to go along with the cake! Happy Birthday, dear. It's hard to believe so many years have flown by. I just realized that for the next four months I'm twice your age! Glad it was a fun day for you :-)
The cake was amazing. An oversized slice of carrot, brought home by my husband, which we shared. The best desserts are those that are eaten by two people with one utensil.
